Lead 3's Teacher
My name is Anne Shaul. I was born and raised, mostly, in Charleston. My father was a Naval Captain and pediatrician. My mother was an awesome and loving stay at home mom. I have one brother in Pennsylvania, one sister in Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.
I have a B.S. in Psychology and a Masters plus 30 hours in Early Childhood Development. I taught for over twenty years in the Charleston County School System. This is my third year working at Good Shepherd Day School and have felt so blessed by all of the awesome parents and children I have met!! I am also part time Director of Children’s Education at Old St. Andrew’s Parish Church. It means so much to me to be able to work where God is honored, and where we can all come together to worship Him, and lift our lives and hearts up to Him!
2's Assistant Teacher
Hi! My name is Lauren. I have been a proud resident of Charleston for 13 years. I have been married to my husband David for 4 years and we both act as members of Church of the Good Shepherd. I am thrilled at the opportunity to join the Day School family! I am an alumnus of the College of Charleston, where I majored in Philosophy and Pre-Med Studies. As I studied in preparation to enter medical school, I spent much of my free time volunteering in multiple health care settings, such as the MUSC Children's Hospital "Baby Buddy" program, as well in a few departments of the main MUSC complex. During this time, I also completed my certification in Basic EMT Training and shadowed a number of health care providers in the city. It was around my senior year that the Lord placed a specific burden of love upon my heart for young children with special needs. Since then, I have worked as a Behavioral Analysis Therapist for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. In addition, I spent the last three years working as a Personal Care Assistant and Therapeutic Aide, providing intensive care-giving and therapeutic support to a child with cerebral palsy. I consider it my joy and privilege to watch and serve God's children as they learn about the world, the Lord, and who they will become.
My name is Marissa Virtuoso. This is my third year working at Good Shepherd Day School as the lead teacher for the Tot’s Class. I have been married to my husband, Jonathan, for ten years and we have two energetic boys, ages seven and five who always keep me on my toes. I have a BA degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and spent ten years in the software world before realizing what I loved most was working with children. I am so excited to be with Good Shepherd Day School for a third year and to be a part of the Tot’s class, nurturing and helping our little ones grow and learn under God’s love.

Feeling called to stay at home with my three children (Andrew, Benjamin and Rebecca), I was a homeschool mom for six years. Last year my kids started school at Charleston Collegiate. This is my second year at GSDS and I am very excited to be back in the classroom at such a loving and Christ centered school. I look forward to nurturing your children in their academic, social, emotional and spiritual growth this year.
