The Rev. Dr. Donnie McDaniel was called to serve Good Shepherd as Rector in October of 2016. Formerly he served at Trinity Church in Myrtle Beach and as the Chief Operating Officer of PEARUSA. He holds a Ph.D. in Theological Ethics, and is driven by a desire to see the Gospel applied to all of life. He has been married to Shannon for 19 years and they have five children.
The Rev. Dan Farley
Assistant to Pastoral Care
Dan is newest addition to staff. He is an ordained deacon in the Anglican church. Previously he served in the role of Pastor for Member Care at Trinity Church, Myrtle Beach, SC for 3 years.
In the summer of 2017, he and his wife Sue celebrated 36 years of wedded bliss. They both are former teachers of the Rochester, New York City School District but have been permanent residents of South Carolina for six years.
He loves to hear how folks came to Christ and invites you to share yours with him anytime over a cup of coffee. He tells us, your stories strengthen his call and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
June joined our staff June 2017 as our part-time communication coordinator. Married with two grown children, ultimately it was the four grandchildren that brought them to the lowcountry. Over the course of her marriage, they have moved 10 times but only lived in four states; North Carolina, California, Texas and South Carolina.
She describes herself as a professional dabbler but has had the privilege to work with a traveling evangelist, as well as, several different pastors and churches, assisting with a variety of ministries within the church body.
Her motto, “Smile because you can – not because you have to. Be someone else's sunshine. Be the reason someone smiles today”.
Day School Director
My name is Denyse Steen. I’ve been married to Billy Steen for 23 years now with many more years to come and we have two wonderful children, ages 19 and 21. I am on staff at the Church of the Good Shepherd and have been directing the day school for six years. I have been working with children and with women in ministry for over 18 years. I thank God every day for the opportunity to be with the children in the day school ministry and to watch them grow and transform in God’s grace throughout the year!
Gill was born and raised in Ireland and lived in several areas of the US before moving to South Carolina (6 weeks before Hurrican Hugo!). Gill has been Parish Administrator at Good Shepherd since 1998.
Ben grew up in Charleston and has been leading worship at Good Shepherd since the start of the 9:15 service in 2011. He graduated from the College of Charleston with a BA in History and has since joined what some call “the real world.” Ben and his wife, Kelann, were married in October, 2013.
Brenda has been a church musician since the age of nine and has been playing ever since. She has been our Music Director since 2013. Her most important job at Good Shepherd is leading people in worship, using music to help us see Christ more clearly, love Him more dearly, and follow Him more nearly. Brenda lives out her philosophy of life is “If it’s not fun, you’re not doing it right.”
